OK, so there has been a lack of colour over the last few posts, but then again as any who have visited here on a regular basis know I like watercolour but just can't get on with it, acrylics don't really suit this kind of work and well I love pen and ink!
Anyway, to make up for it and to add a little colour some pages from the sketch book, unlike the latest ink drawings which are all drawn on the day that they have been posted. Also after receiving some compliments on my line drawing I may as well mess my reputation up with some little colour sketches!
The bus was (and maybe still is) going to be a part of the 'story', but the thinking has changed so maybe it will be relegated to the pages of a sketch book in a dark cozy draw.
If anyone has re-found this site after my long absence from posting anything (two years I think), well... we have finally moved, found a new house and have settled in. I finally have my study/studio/recording studio/(escape from the kids) set up where I can snooz.... erm I mean be creative and well who knows I may get back to regular sketching too!
So there you go, and tomorrow, yes... it will be back to black and white and lovely slick black ink!
(Charlie Crow is actually a hand puppet but with a bit of a re-design he makes a great cheeky character!)

Your B&White sketches are fantastic and deep!
But when you light them with watercolor are so fantastic too! I also love ink and watercolor...and not yet acrylics :-)
Thank you for stop in my blog!
- what does "doodles" mean?...mm I'll look for it
HAPPY 2009 full of peace in your new studio! :-)

I love the color. And it is just enough to make your pen and inks come to life!
We have a Crow hand puppet too, but I have to hide it when the children are visiting, because it is just too scary. Trouble is, I keep forgetting where I have hidden it and every once in a while we get a big surprise when he turns up in an empty basket someone is about to put to use.
I like your Charlie Crow much better than ours. All the very best in your new house and studio. Post a photo or two if you would of the studio as it is now.

Hi Cati, well doodles are just quick sketches which are what I call my drawings..even though some tell me off for calling them just doodles.
Hi GP, ah you can't beat a good old crow puppet (mind I have too many characters around in the studio and in my head!). Thank you for the good wishes, and yes I will take a couple of snaps of the new 'hideaway', mind it is more filled with recording gear and shelves of books than artists materials (they are all in draws!).

I love Charlie Crow. Love his disheveled hair and the nice gesture!

Hi Meridith, I think that he has something in common with me, too much touselling of hair while doodling!

Wow I just stumbled on your site because I was searching for information on the story tellers of years gone by. I am no artist, but I know what I like and your illustrations are amazing. Looking over the site I think the colour brings to life your drawings. I just love Charlie Crow and Smudge;absolutely delightful.
