Two non black and white doodles in a row?! It must be a record.
Regular readers will know that watercolour isn't a medium that I excel in, well OK I don't excel in any medium but that's not the point but from time to time I dabble a little with doodling with watercolour and tonight was one of those nights.
I have a couple of pretty good watercolour instruction books but I am one of those people who looks at the pretty pictures in these kind of books and nothing more. However I did scan over one of the articles on painting rocks in water a couple of days ago and tonight decided to do a little rocks in water watercolour doodle. It was also an excuse to play with a size 0 da vinci Petit Gris Pur (which I prefer to call a Petit Gris Grrrr, for no other reason than I'm an idiot at times) that I purchased on the recent trip to the lakes. When I do use watercolours I dislike changing brushes and normally try to paint with just one brush, I guess you could call it being lazy. This little brush is quite nice to work with on little watercolour doodles as it holds enough water to lay down a small wash and yet has a fine enough point to put down details, which suits my lazy one brush method perfectly. Have you also noticed that a few posts back I mentioned using a Rigger and now a Petit Gris P..Grrrr! You could almost be forgiven for thinking this blog had something arty about it! Almost.
