Otter
I have a real issue with drawing animals. It's the fur, I just look at it and think 'yeah right, OK, next'. A long way back in the Graphic studio days I had an artist working for me who freelanced outside of work specialising in animal illustration in technical pen and airbrush. His work always blew me away, the detail in every single hair was amazing. The amount of time he spent on each illustration also blew me away, the patience and and dedication spent on each illustration was beyond my imagining. I just don't have that kind of nature, that much patience. I am more of the attention span of a goldfish kind of guy.
So of course it makes total sense that when thinking tonight that I hadn't done a quick doodle for a few days that I would pick one of the furry little fellas from the photographs I took last weekend and posted on Tree of Life and try to do the drawing in twenty minutes.

I'm an art student studying foundation art and design illustration. I am currently doing a project on technical drawing of wildlife/botanical. I love this piece of the otter, I think the way you have depicted the fur is beautiful, it gives it character.
